Description
This drawing depicts legendary Alabama Crimson Tide Football Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant.
After successful coaching stints at Maryland, Kentucky, and Texas A&M, he won six national championships over 25 years with Alabama, and retired with a record 323 wins. Bryant died in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on January 26, 1983—one month after coaching his final game. His iconic nickname stemmed from his having agreed to wrestle a captive bear during a carnival promotion when he was 13 years old.
